Smart Routing for
Sustainability-Focused Partners

VeloLoad helps use available capacity on routes already planned. Any CO₂e, fuel, or utilization result is an estimate based on available match data; it does not establish that a separate trip or health outcome was avoided.

The Reality

The Green Reality: The Cost of Empty Trucks

Millions of euros and massive amounts of fuel are wasted every single day because trucks travel across Europe completely empty or only half-full.

External road-freight studies report that 25–35% of vehicle-kilometres in some European national markets are empty runs.

Unnecessary CO2 Emissions

In fact, empty trucking runs alone dump over 40 million tons of unnecessary CO2 into the European atmosphere every single year.

All VeloLoad impact figures are estimates aligned with ISO 14083:2023 and GLEC Framework v3. They depend on available route and load data and are not certified measurements, certificates, compliance determinations, or guaranteed outcomes.

The Scope 3 Carbon Ledger

VeloLoad provides methodology-aligned impact estimates for eligible realized matches. Results depend on data coverage and do not establish certification, regulatory compliance, or a zero-emission footprint.

Estimated impact tracking

Eligible realized matches include estimated CO₂e, data coverage, and the methodology version. Missing inputs remain unavailable instead of appearing as zero.

Methodology-aligned estimates

Calculations are aligned with ISO 14083:2023 and GLEC Framework v3; alignment is not certification or a regulatory compliance decision.

Reviewed estimate reports

Approved snapshots can be reviewed and saved as reports. They are evidence-bound estimate summaries, not certificates.

2. For Carriers

The Fuel Efficiency Yield

VeloLoad can help carriers use available capacity on planned routes. Revenue, fuel, and utilization effects vary; displayed figures are estimates based on available data.

Capacity utilization

A partial-load match may improve capacity use and route revenue. Results depend on price, detour, load, and operating costs.

Route-aware matching

Matching considers route and capacity compatibility. It does not guarantee a perfect match, no detour, or a particular fuel saving.

Estimated fuel impact

Where inputs are available, the dashboard may show estimated fuel and utilization effects with coverage. Missing inputs remain unavailable.

3. For Our Communities

The Public Health Impact

Consolidating freight may reduce avoidable traffic and local pollutants. VeloLoad does not claim or certify public-health outcomes.

SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Pollutant methodology boundary

Any PM2.5 or NOx estimate requires validated inputs and a published methodology. VeloLoad does not report a specific prevented amount.

No certified health outcomes

VeloLoad does not convert matches into certified DALY or QALY outcomes or attribute biological or economic effects to them.

Community context

More efficient capacity use may support cleaner routes, but VeloLoad does not attribute a number of people or a health outcome.
